Acting To Politics: When Kichcha Sudeep Backed BJP Candidate For Karnataka Assembly Elections

Actor Kichcha Sudeep's mother Saroj Sudeep passed away on Sunday. Fans and colleagues extended their condolences to the popular actor through social media. Kichcha Sudeep, who delivered several big hits in Kannada and Hindi, has a huge fan following.

Not just on the silver screen, Kichcha Sudeep made people feel his presence in politics too.

Last year, Kichch Sudeep campaigned for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Karnataka during the elections. He backe BJP's S Thippeswamy from the Molakalmuru Assembly constituency.

At that time, a video of Kichcha Sudeep had went viral, showing Sudeep atop of a vehicle waving to the crowd. He was surrounded by BJP leaders and wore a white T-shirt, shirt, denims, and dark sunglasses. The actor also blew kisses to his fans gathered in Chitradurga.

Kichcha Sudeep's Support for BJP

Kichca Sudeep had also participated in a press conference with Karnataka CM Basavraj Bommai. During the event, he expressed his support for Bommai. "I had no necessity to come here, and I have not come here for any platform or money," said Sudeep. "I have come here only for a person. I have high regard for CM Mama (Bommai). That's why I am announcing that I am giving my full support to Bommai sir."

Sudeep clarified that his presence was not politically motivated but driven by personal respect for Bommai. He added, "As a citizen, I totally respect certain decisions PM Modi has taken, but that's my perspective. But that has got nothing to do with me sitting here."

Threat Letter Incident

Speculation about Sudeep joining the BJP arose after his manager received a threatening letter. The letter warned of releasing the actor's "private video" on social media. Following this incident, the Puttenahalli police registered a case under sections 504, 506, and 120 (B) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The police acted on the complaint filed by Sudeep's manager Jack Manju against an unknown sender. This development came amid rumours of Sudeep's political involvement.

Kichcha Sudeep's Recent Work

Sudeep was last seen in the Kannada-language period action film Kabzaa. Directed by R Chandru, the movie features Upendra, Shiva Rajkumar, Shriya Saran, Sudha, Murali Sharma, and Nawab Shah among others.

The film showcases an ensemble cast and has been well-received by audiences. Fans eagerly anticipate more projects from Sudeep as he continues to make waves both in cinema and public life.
