Accident Caught On Cam: Minor Rams Scooter; Kills Woman, Daughter Seriously Injured

In another tragic case of reckless driving by a minor, a woman lost her life after being struck by a car driven by a 17-year-old boy in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

The incident was captured on CCTV, showing the speeding vehicle hitting the scooter and throwing the woman into the air. Her daughter, who was also on the scooter, suffered severe injuries.

Local residents apprehended the minor and handed him over to the police. The police also arrested the boy's father. It was confirmed that the teenager, a Class 12 student without a driving license, had skipped school to perform stunts in the car with friends.

During interrogation, the father claimed he was unaware his son had taken the car, which he said was meant to drop the boy's sister at her college.

Eyewitnesses told India Today that the car was traveling at over 100 km/h and collided with two other vehicles besides the woman's scooter.

According to local resident Jamna Singh, whose vehicle was also struck, "The car was speeding, hit the scooter, and then crashed into my parked vehicle. While the police arrested the boy, the girls in the car fled the scene."

The woman's family is demanding severe punishment for the minor and stricter measures to prevent such incidents. This accident follows a similar tragedy in July, where two techies lost their lives due to a similar incident.
