Aam Aadmi Party Criticises BJP-Led Delhi Government for Focusing on Barapullah Probe Instead of Governance
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) criticised the BJP-led Delhi government on Monday, accusing it of prioritising political vendetta over governance and misusing investigative agencies. This response followed the Delhi government's order for a vigilance inquiry into alleged irregularities in the Barapullah Phase-3 elevated corridor construction.

The decision for an Anti-Corruption Branch investigation was made during an Expenditure Finance Committee meeting led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Public Works Department Minister Parvesh Verma. The AAP condemned what they termed the BJP's "four-engine government" for not fulfilling promises even six months after taking power.
Focus on Governance, Not Vendetta Politics
AAP claimed that instead of concentrating on development, the BJP has been busy filing baseless cases and conducting raids against political opponents. "Jail whoever you want, file as many cases as you like — nothing will come of it, because there's nothing to find," stated the party. They argued that these investigations are excuses to avoid real work.
The AAP urged the BJP to respect the public mandate and shift focus from revenge politics to fulfilling electoral promises. They highlighted the BJP's pre-election promise of a monthly honorarium to women in Delhi, noting that no significant steps have been taken to address real issues facing citizens.
Public Mandate and Accountability
The party pointed out that women in Delhi are still waiting for the promised Rs 2,500 monthly payment. "It has been six months, and not a single meaningful step has been taken," they said. The AAP accused the government of using strategies like delay, deflection, and distraction through endless investigations and raids without producing evidence.
The AAP called on the BJP to move beyond vendetta politics and focus on governance. They emphasised that people did not elect them to harass opponents but to govern effectively by improving schools, hospitals, public transport, and delivering promises like the Rs 2,500 guarantee to women.
The statement concluded with a challenge to check every aspect of governance thoroughly but urged the government to start doing real work once their investigations end. "Enough of the drama. Enough of the excuses. The people are watching, and they will hold you accountable," AAP added.
