'A story less video game': Pakistani writer on SRK's 'Pathaan'

Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan' may have won millions of hearts with its content worldwide, but a Pakistani writer has a problem with the film.

Pakistani actor-turned-screenwriter Yasir Hussain has slammed the movie and called it a "storyless video game."

"Agar aap mission impossible 1 bhik dekh chuky hain toh Shah Rukh Khan ki Pathan aap ko aik story less video game se zyada kuch nahi lagy gi (If you have seen the first Mission Impossible, then you will feel that Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan is like a story less video game, nothing more)," Yasir said iina Insta story.

Yasir Hussain is a multifaceted talent who has films such as 'Karachi Se Lahore', 'Ho Mann Jahaan', 'Lahore Se Aagey' and a few other movies to his credit. On the other hand, a Pakistani artist recently made a sand portrait of King Khan on Pakistan's Gadani beach. One of the group member shared a picture that showed an aerial view of Shah Rukh Khan's sand portrait.

It has to be noted that Khan has a good fan following in Pakistan.

'Pathaan' is one of the biggest box office hits of 2023. The movie was released on January 26 to coincide with the Republic Day celebration.

Although the movie, which had Deepika Padukone in the female lead and John Abraham in the role of antagonist, had run into controversies before its release, the movie did extremely well at the box office. The Siddharth Anand directorial minted close to Rs 1050 crore at the worldwide box office.

It became the fifth Indian movie to join Rs 1000-crore club after 'Baahubali 2', 'Dangal', 'RRR' and 'KGF 2'.
