Humanity ashamed: 90-yr-old woman harassed, minor girl raped in Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram/Kollam, Sep 21: In two separate incidents, a 90-year-old woman was allegedly sexually harassed by her neighbour in Kollam district even as a minor girl was raped in Thodupuzha in high-range Idukki in Kerala.
According to police, the nonagenarian woman, who is a widow cancer survivor, was attacked and molested by a 63-year-old man after trespassing into her house at Kadakkal in Kollam.

Though the incident occurred a week back, it came to light today. Based on her statement, the man was arrested and a case registered under Sections IPC 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 377 (unnatural offences).
"According to the woman, the accused intruded into her house, where she lived alone, attacked her and behaved in a manner which amounted to outraging her modesty," District police chief Ajeetha Begum said.
"We have registered the case based on the statement given by the woman. She was sent to the hospital for detailed medical examination," she told PTI.
Meanwhile, the state Human Rights Commission initiated suo moto into the incident based on media reports. In another incident, a 15-year-old girl, hailing from the state capital, was lured by her lover and taken to a place in Thodupuzha, where he allegedly raped her.
Police said a case had been registered based on a missing complaint, lodged by the girl's parents. Based on a tip off, the girl was rescued from a house in Thodupuzha today, police said, adding the accused and three others involved in the case were at large and the investigation was on.
