7th Pay Commission: Budget disappoints, but fair compensation soon
The pay hike beyond the 7th Pay Commission only got longer. Hopes were dashed when Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley made no mention about a hike in the Union Budget 2018.
However reports suggest that a fair compensation for Central Government employees and pensioners may be rolled out effective 2018.

Fair compensation from April
Some reports quoting finance ministry sources say that a fair compensation or hike in basic minimum pay will be effected. It would come into effect from April 2018 onwards.

Gazette notification
Media reports also added that the Gazette will have this information in the next financial year while the implementions will be made from April 2018. The Union Cabinet had in June approved the recommendations with 32 modifications.

Disappointment
National Joint Council of Action Chief Shiv Gopal Mishra said we were expecting that the government would have announced some relief for us on income tax but it didn't happen. He further said that a large number of employees were expecting that the government might announce an increase in minimum wage, change in fitment formula, an announcement on new pension scheme but it didn't happen.

7th Pay Commission, budget upsets CG employees
The government had not announced anything new and I would like to say that for millions of Central government employees this is the most disappointing Budget in past 60 years," Mishra added. The Central Government employees were looking for some announcement beyond the 7th Pay Commission in the budget, but it left them disappointed.
