2 more aides of Gayatri Prajapati arrested, minister still absconding
Despite headway in arrests, Prajapati remains at large and the Uttar Pradesh police have not been able to trace him.
Officials of the special task force arrested two aides of Uttar Pradesh Minister and rape accused Gayatri Prajapati in Noida. The total number of arrests in the gangrape case now stands at three, but the accused minister is still absconding. Ashok Tiwari and Ashish Shukla were arrested in Noida and were being shifted to Luckow where investigations will continue.

On Monday, a close aide of Gayatri Prajapati had surrendered before the Lucknow police. Chandrapal Singh who surrendered is also an accused in the gangrape and molestation case that the Uttar Pradesh minister faces. Despite headway in arrests, Prajapati remains at large and the Uttar Pradesh police have not been able to trace him.
Prajapati has been on the run since the Supreme Court asked the Uttar Pradesh government to act on allegations against the minister. The victim in the case had alleged that she was not only being threatened but the police had refused to register a case against the minister following which she had approached the Supreme Court. It may be noted that the accused minister is also Samajwadi party's candidate from Amethi in the ongoing Uttar Pradesh assembly polls.
