Pushpa 2 Makers React To Stampede At Hyderabad Theatre That Killed A Woman
A stampede at the premiere of 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' in Hyderabad resulted in the tragic death of a woman, highlighting urgent safety concerns at public events.
In a heartbreaking incident at Sandhya Theater in Hyderabad, Telangana, the excitement surrounding the premiere of "Pushpa 2: The Rule" turned tragic due to a stampede caused by overcrowding.
Late on Wednesday night, the film's lead actors, Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, made an unexpected appearance to greet their fans. The lack of prior notice about the actors' arrival and inadequate security measures led to chaos, resulting in the death of a woman named Revathi, who was there with her husband Bhaskar and two children.

The situation escalated when Revathi, along with her children, suffocated and lost consciousness after being pushed by the crowd. According to a senior Hyderabad police official, police officers performed Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on Revathi and her son, who were then rushed to the hospital. Tragically, Revathi did not survive, and her son is still receiving medical care.
Bhaskar, Revathi's husband, expressed his grief, noting that they had attended the screening for their son Sri Teja, a fan of Allu Arjun. "Our son Sri Teja, is a fan of Allu Arjun. We came to the cinema for him. Once Allu Arjun came, the crowd increased. There was a stampede. When the police performed CPR, our son regained consciousness," Bhaskar lamented.
Responding to this unfortunate event, Mythri Movie Makers, the production company behind "Pushpa 2: The Rule," issued a statement expressing their sorrow and extending their support to the bereaved family. "We are extremely heartbroken by the tragic incident during last night's screening. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and the young child undergoing medical treatment. We are committed to standing by them and extending all possible support during this difficult time," the statement read, reflecting the company's commitment to helping the family navigate through this devastating period.
This tragic occurrence highlights the significant risks associated with large gatherings, especially when safety measures are not strictly enforced. The incident has sparked a conversation about the importance of adequate security and crowd control measures during public events to prevent such catastrophes in the future.
The film "Pushpa 2: The Rule" directed by Sukumar, features Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil reprising their roles, marking a highly anticipated return to the big screen. However, the joyous occasion of its premiere was overshadowed by the unforeseen tragedy, leaving a family mourning the loss of a loved one. As the community comes to terms with this event, the focus shifts to ensuring the well-being of the affected family and reevaluating safety protocols at public gatherings.
