Hyderabad: Who Is Kumari Aunty And How Much Does She Earn From Her Food Stall, Daily?
Social media is a double-edged sword. On one hand, it can bring instant fame and also help solve many issues, on the flip side, it can be detrimental, potentially causing significant damage to reputations, relationships, and mental well-being. The swift dissemination of information on social platforms amplifies both positive and negative aspects.
Here is one such case that made a woman a household name in Andhra and Telangana. Unfortunately, the popularity had a negative impact on her shop.

Dasari Sai Kumari, popularly known as Kumari Aunty, has been in the news in the last few days. Well, she has a food stall in Hyderabad and its popularity has reached places due to social media.
On Tuesday, Raidurgam traffic police ordered for the closure of her stall, citing her shop of creating traffic congestion in the IT sector area in Madhapur. Ganesh Patel, a Raidurgam traffic inspector, told The New Indian Express: "She has not received any permit to run the stall. It is on a footpath and many YouTubers visit the place to record videos. The stall has caused quite a congestion in the IT sector stretch."
However, many people on social media expressed support to her. Following the outrage, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Wednesday directed the DGP and Urban Development Ministry to revoke their decision.
So, who is she?
Dasari Sai Kumari started her shop in 2011. Although she has been running the food stall for 13 years, it got widespread popularity due to social media sites. Many food bloggers came up with videos about her shop located at the ITC Kohinoor junction food stall..
As a result, nearly 100 kg of cooked rice along with various non-vegetarian items are sold here on daily basis. According to the reports in the Telugu media, the food stall provides a variety of offerings, including rice, chicken curry, and mutton curry.
Kumari Aunty's Earnings
Well, it might be shocking for many people to know that the middle-class woman has been making much more than what a software engineer could earn in the IT area. Well, Sai Kumari makes at least Rs 30,000, daily.
On the flip side, the popularity of her shop resulted in traffic jams as people park their vehicles near the shop. It is for this reason the authorities had tried to close the shop.
She told the daily, "I have been running my stall here for nearly 13 years. IT employees and daily wage labourers consume food from my eatery. I have even asked my customers to not park their vehicles here."
