Hyderabad: 233 Bottles Of Smuggled Liquor Seized, Two Arrested By Excise Officials
In a crackdown on illegal liquor smuggling, the Excise and Prohibition Department's Enforcement team seized 233 bottles of non-duty paid liquor and arrested two individuals at Basheerbagh on Friday. Acting on a tip-off, officials closely monitored Basheerbagh Road and identified a suspiciously moving car. Upon stopping and inspecting the vehicle, they found a consignment of smuggled liquor transported from Delhi and Haryana.
The arrested individuals, identified as Harish Kumar and Williams Joseph, were allegedly involved in an illegal liquor supply network. Officials revealed that they were working with four other associates, who managed to escape and are currently on the run. Efforts are being made to track them down and uncover the full extent of the smuggling operation.

According to authorities, smuggling of non-duty paid liquor poses a significant revenue loss to the state and fuels illegal alcohol distribution. The department has intensified its vigilance to curb such activities, especially with increased incidents of liquor being brought in from neighboring states.
A case has been registered against the accused, and further investigations are ongoing to identify the larger network involved in this smuggling racket. More details are expected to emerge as the inquiry progresses.
