Will Schools in Hyderabad and Telangana Declare a Holiday?
As of Tuesday afternoon, no official holiday has been announced for schools across Telangana. However, district administrations in affected areas may decide on localized closures based on overnight rainfall intensity and ground conditions.
Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, and other high-alert districts are under watch, and a decision could be made late tonight or early Wednesday.

Parents and students are advised to keep an eye on updates from their district collectors, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and the Telangana government.
Precautionary Measures Advised
The IMD has urged residents to:
✔ Avoid venturing out during heavy rains.
✔ Stay away from waterlogged and low-lying areas.
✔ Watch out for lightning strikes in open fields.
On Monday, a sudden, intense downpour left commuters stranded and submerged low-lying areas across Hyderabad. The heavy rain caused significant waterlogging on major roads, crippling the evening commute.
In Secunderabad, thoroughfares like Paradise, Marredpally, and Tarnaka were inundated, forcing pedestrians and two-wheeler riders to seek shelter. The deluge also impacted other areas, with intense showers reported in Rasulpura, Kapra, RP Road, SP Road, Patny crossroads, and Habsiguda, among others. Local authorities and traffic police have been deployed to manage the chaos and clear the waterlogged streets.
