How to beat Bengaluru’s notorious traffic? Follow the mantra of this techie, ride a horse to office
A techie in Bengaluru recently created a lot of flutter on a busy thoroughfare in the city and then on the internet after he decided to ride a horse to his office.
Bengaluru, June 16: In India's IT hub Bengaluru, every commuter (for that matter, every resident) has one grouse--"TRAFFIC". As bumper-to-bumper traffic creates an unending roadblock on your way to your destination, all you can do is seat and wait inside the vehicle or curse everyone in this world. Unfortunately, nothing helps.
Call it a Dabangg (fearless) statement or an expression of frustration, a techie in Bengaluru recently created a lot of flutter on a busy thoroughfare in the city and then on the internet after he decided to ride a horse to his office. Incidentally, it was his last day in his office as he decided to quit his "cushy" MNC job to try his hands in starting a start-up.

Dressed in a formal blue shirt, a pair of trousers and a necktie, and a laptop bag slinging across his chest, the techie proudly rode his white horse to his office with a message written in a piece of cardboard: "Last working day as a software engineer".
Fellow commuters on the Outer Ring Road, which houses a series of software companies, not only gave the "horseman" a few surprising glances but also took selfies with him.
Speaking about his new-found popularity on social media, Roopesh Kumar Verma, who originally hails from Pilani, Rajasthan and working in Bengaluru for almost eight years now, told News 18, "I am from a middle-class family. This kind of social media attention is hard to digest. I never expected this."
He added, "I have been staying in Bengaluru for the past eight years and I am fed up of the bottlenecks and air pollution. Bengaluru is overcrowded and too many vehicles on the road lead to traffic jams every day. In fact, I learnt horse riding because of the traffic headache.
This was his way of protesting against the city's notorious traffic.
As far as quitting his job is concerned, Verma told News 18 that he was equally fed up with his job as software companies don't care about their employees. He is now planning to start his own company.
Hope he succeeds in his endeavour, like he won citizens and netizens' hearts with his unique protest against Bengaluru's traffic.
