Who is Chander Prakash?
Chander Prakash is a 22-year-old UPSC aspirant from Jammu & Kashmir. He has now become the first contestant to win 1 crore rupees in the 16th season of the popular quiz show.

He is a UPSC aspirant who faced numerous health challenges throughout his life. He was born with an intestinal blockage and has undergone seven surgeries. Despite these struggles, he remains determined and is advised to undergo another surgery soon.

The Rs 1 Crore Question
Chander was not the first contestant to face the Rs 1 crore question this season but was the first to answer correctly. The question asked which country's largest city is not its capital but a port with an Arabic name meaning 'abode of peace'. The options were Somalia, Oman, Tanzania, and Brunei.

After contemplating for some time, Chander used his last lifeline, Double Dip. He initially chose Tanzania as his answer. Amitabh Bachchan smiled slyly before announcing the correct answer and celebrating Chander's win.

The Rs 7 Crore Challenge
For the first time this season, the Rs 7 crore question was posed. Contestants cannot use lifelines at this stage. The question was about the first recorded child born to English parents in North America in 1587. Chander decided not to risk guessing and chose to quit instead.

When asked by Amitabh Bachchan for a guess, Chander picked Virginia Dare, which turned out to be correct. Despite not winning the prize money for this question, he remained content with his decision not to take unnecessary risks.
