'Vettaiyan' 1st Day Box Office Collection: Check How Much Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada Versions Earned
Rajinikanth's 'Vettaiyan', one of the most anticipated films of the year, made a spectacular debut, earning around Rs 30 crore in India across all languages on its opening day, according to early estimates.
The Tamil version led the way, contributing Rs 26.15 crore to the total, while the Telugu version earned Rs 3.2 crore. The Hindi and Kannada versions, though smaller in comparison, raked in Rs 60 lakh and Rs 5 lakh respectively, as per Sacnik data.

The movie, released on Thursday, October 10, 2024, saw an impressive overall occupancy of 59.43% in Tamil Nadu. The night shows, in particular, drew significant crowds with a 75.81% occupancy rate, while the morning, afternoon, and evening shows saw occupancy rates of 53.95%, 53.51%, and 54.43%, respectively.
Chennai led the charge, boasting the highest occupancy at 78% across 1,196 shows. Other key cities like Coimbatore followed with 73.25% occupancy from 336 shows. Bengaluru saw 41% occupancy across 1,063 shows, while Madurai recorded 51% from 207 shows. Trivandrum showed a more moderate response with 45.5% occupancy across 238 shows.
In the Telugu-speaking regions, 'Vettaiyan' recorded an overall occupancy of 37.66% on its opening day. Night shows stood out with a 48.16% occupancy rate, while morning, afternoon, and evening shows registered 35.73%, 34.15%, and 32.58% respectively. In Hyderabad, the film had 36.50% occupancy from 425 shows, while Vizag-Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada reported 41.75% and 38.5% occupancy from 147 and 104 shows, respectively.

The Hindi version had a modest opening with an overall 8.98% occupancy on Thursday, showing a comparatively limited reception in the northern market.
With a strong start, particularly in Tamil Nadu, the film is expected to build on its success over the weekend as it continues to draw in audiences across the country.
