'Tomb Raider' Netflix Series Release Date Announced, First Look Trailer, Other Details

Netflix just recently released a new trailer for their new series 'Tomb Raider: The Legend Of Lara Croft'. The series will be released on the OTT platform on October 10th, 2024.

The description for the trailer reads, "The animated series TOMB RAIDER: THE LEGEND OF LARA CROFT picks up after the events of the highly successful Tomb Raider video game Survivor trilogy (Tomb Raider; Rise of the Tomb Raider; Shadow of the Tomb Raider), and will chart the globetrotting heroine's next chapter as the iconic adventurer. More than 25 years after her first appearance, Lara Croft (voiced by Hayley Atwell) continues to explore ancient mysteries and uncover lost truths across breathtaking and dangerous destinations."

Readers may recognize Atwell from her role as 'Peggy Carter' in the first Captain America movie and the other films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She will be accompanied by Allen Maldonado as Zip, and Earl Baylon reprising his role as Jonah Maiava from the video game, according to a press release by Netflix.

The series is written and produced by Tasha Huo, who has worked on other animated projects like The Witcher: Blood Origin and Red Sonja. Other companies that will help produce this series include DJ2 Entertainment, who've worked on the 'Sonic The Hedgehog' movies, as well as many other video games like 'Life Is Strange' and 'Disco Elysium'.

The series will be largely funded by Legendary Entertainment, who also shared small snippets of the trailer on their instagram.
