'The Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth': What Viewers Say About This Docu Series?

Docu-series on Indrani Mukerjea, accused of killing her daughter Sheena Bora, is out on Netflix after the Bombay High Court on Thursday said it has not found anything against the prosecution or the trial.

A division bench of Justices Revati Mohite Dere and Manjusha Deshpande dismissed the petition filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), seeking a stay on the release of the movie till the trial in the case is complete.

The Murder Case

Indrani Mukerjea, along with her then driver Shyamvar Rai and former husband Sanjeev Khanna, allegedly strangled Sheena Bora (24) to death in a car in Mumbai in April 2012. According to the prosecution, Bora's body was later burnt in a forest in the neighbouring Raigad district.

Bora was Indrani's daughter from a previous relationship. The murder case came to light in 2015 when Rai, after his arrest in another case, revealed details about the murder.

Former media baron Peter Mukerjea was also arrested on allegations of involvement in the conspiracy. Indrani was arrested in August 2015 after the murder came to light and walked out in May 2022 after being granted bail by the Supreme Court.

The New Docu Series

The Netflix documentary series 'The Indrani Mukerjea Story' which has Anurita Jha and Samaksh Sudi in key roles, will delve into the infamous murder case. Through interviews and documents, the show will spotlight the mysterious disappearance of 25-year-old Sheena Bora and uncover the startling aftermath of the entire ordeal.

The series is directed by Shaana Levy and Uraaz Bahl.
