Super Singer Junior 10 Winner: Did Sarasruthi Deserve The Trophy More Than Gayathri?

The grand finale of Super Singer Junior Season 10, aired on Sunday, concluded with Gayathri being declared the winner. The announcement, however, has stirred a section of netizens who feel that another finalist, Sarasruthi, was more deserving of the title.

Gayathri lifted the Super Singer Junior 10 trophy at the finale held in Chennai and was awarded a luxurious villa worth ₹60 lakh. The star-studded event was graced by chief guests Kamal Haasan and AR Rahman. Nasreen emerged as the first runner-up, while Aadya and Sarasruthi jointly secured the third place.

Despite the celebratory tone of the finale, several netizens took to social media expressing their discontent with the results.

How Netizens React?

One user wrote, "Again same mistake for a singing competition. People's favourite choice seem to decide the title winner. To my opinion the quality of singing should take priority & this is where the judges play a vital role. All the 5 finalists sang well with determination. Sarasruti should have been the title winner, Gayathri 2nd place, Adthya 3rd place. Consolation to Nazrin & Lynet. Am happy all the five contestants received prize money. Thanks to the sponsors. My suggestion in future competion, people's favourite choice from peoples votes & judges select title winner, 1st & 2nd place. Congratulations to all the 5 contestants & best wishes in your singing journey."

Another netizen commented, "This isn't first time Vijay tv do this, they did same thing for Shsathyaprakash dharmar. I remember in all 10 season most of the time best singer never deserves 1st place."

A third user stated, "Congratulations!! But Sarasruthi was more deserving."

The sentiment was echoed by another who wrote, "Sara sruthy is a deserved one to get title winner.and nasreen is not up to the mark. Runner up should be aadhya 2nd runnerup gayathri n lynet will be correct."

Highlighting a broader concern, one netizen added, "Once again, winners have been selected based on their economic standing rather than pure talent. Congratulations to all 5, we all have our own personal preferences and wish all 5 the best. But I am glad all 5 finalist got a prize each. Wishing all 5 a bright future, may they continue to grow as singers."

An additional user bluntly claimed, "Vijay tv judges cheated why there gave for her 1st prizes and even politics also there very badly hmmmm."

Hailing from a family rooted in temple music traditions, Gayathri turned emotional after her victory, as did her family members who were visibly moved by the moment.

Nasreen walked away with a cash prize of ₹10 lakh. Aadya and Sarasruthi were awarded ₹5 lakh each for their shared third position, while Lynet received ₹3 lakh.

The finale featured memorable performances from both current and past contestants, with a special tribute to Kamal Haasan. A standout moment came when five-year-old Sri Varshini performed "Kanmani Anbodu" and "Jinguchaa" alongside Kamal Haasan, enchanting the audience. Kamal also danced to his classic number Yen Jodi Manjakuruvi, sung by Lynet during her final performance.

The show was judged by veteran singers Mano, KS Chithra, and music director Imman. Hosting duties were handled by Ma Ka Pa Anand and Priyanka Deshpande. The program aired on Vijay Television and JioHotstar.
