Sridevi remains a cherished figure in Indian cinema, remembered for her unforgettable performances, iconic dance sequences, and timeless songs. On her seventh death anniversary, her legacy continues to shine brightly, inspiring generations of actors and film enthusiasts.
Reflecting on their bond, Janhvi Kapoor once shared an insight into her mother's protective nature. In a 2019 interview with Brides Today, Janhvi revealed that Sridevi did not entirely trust her judgment in matters of love. She recalled, "She would say that she doesn't trust my judgement in guys, that she will choose someone for me because I love very easily."

Sridevi, regarded as one of Bollywood's most legendary actresses, delivered stellar performances in films such as 'Mr. India,' 'Nagina,' 'Sadma,' 'ChaalBaaz,' 'Chandni,' and 'Khuda Gawah.' Her acting prowess and versatility extended beyond Bollywood, as she made an indelible mark in multiple Indian film industries. After taking a 15-year hiatus, she made a remarkable comeback in 2012 with 'English Vinglish,' winning hearts once again with her grace and talent. Her final film, 'Mom,' released in 2017, showcased her ability to portray powerful and nuanced characters, further solidifying her status as a cinematic legend.
In 1996, Sridevi married renowned film producer Boney Kapoor, and the couple had two daughters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor. Tragically, in 2018, while attending a family wedding in Dubai, her life was cut short under heartbreaking circumstances. Initial reports suggested she had suffered a cardiac arrest, but after further investigation, the cause of death was confirmed as 'accidental drowning', with water found in her lungs.
Her untimely passing on February 24, 2018, sent shockwaves through the film industry and deeply affected her fans. Tributes poured in from across the world, with co-stars, admirers, and prominent figures in cinema remembering her not just as a remarkable actress but also as a beloved icon.
