‘Squid Game’ Returns To No. 1 in Streaming Rankings Amid Final Season Buzz

The final season of the Korean drama Squid Game has set a new streaming milestone in the US. Released on June 27, it achieved an impressive 3.2 billion minutes viewed in its first week, from June 23 to June 29. This makes it the most-watched show of the year so far, according to Nielsen's streaming charts.
Squid Game's second season holds the all-time record for weekly viewing minutes. Released on December 26, 2024, it amassed a staggering 4.6 billion minutes between December 30 and January 5. The third season's success continues to cement its popularity among audiences.
Top Streaming Shows
Besides Squid Game, other shows also made their mark on the Nielsen chart. Love Island USA secured second place with 1.78 billion views. Netflix's Australian drama Animal Kingdom followed closely with 1.70 billion viewing minutes, taking third place.
Netflix's espionage drama Blindspot and American crime series The Waterfront claimed fourth and fifth positions with 1.65 billion and 1.45 billion viewing minutes, respectively. These shows continue to captivate audiences with their engaging storylines.
Other Notable Entries
The comedy-drama Ginny & Georgia entered the chart at sixth place after its third season premiered on June 5, garnering 979 million viewing minutes. Meanwhile, The Bear's fourth season ranked seventh with 917 million viewing minutes, a decline from last year's numbers.
Disney+'s Bluey and Grey's Anatomy occupied the eighth and ninth spots with 860 million and 842 million viewing minutes, respectively. At tenth place is Netflix's animated Korean film KPop Demon Hunters, which attracted attention with its catchy songs and simple storyline, earning 778 million viewing minutes.
