Sikandar Box Office Collection Day 1: Salman Khan's Film Dents L2: Empuraan’s Run, Struggles to Beat Chhaava

Sikandar box office collection day 1: Sikandar, starring Salman Khan, hit theatres on Eid (a public holiday) after a two-year gap, with Rashmika Mandanna in a key role. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film was highly anticipated, though its pre-release buzz didn't quite match Salman's previous Eid blockbusters. With the arrival of Sikandar, Mohanlal's L2: Empuraan, which had already grossed over ₹100 crore, has taken a significant hit.

Sikandar Impacts L2: Empuraan's Collection

Mohanlal's L2: Empuraan received a tremendous response within four days. The film had already crossed ₹100 crore worldwide within just two days. Currently, its total worldwide collection stands at ₹138 crore, with an overseas collection of ₹85 crore. On Sunday, the film earned ₹14 crore from India, which is an increase compared to the previous two days. However, Sikandar's release has impacted its earnings-otherwise, the numbers could have been even higher. At present, L2: Empuraan's total Indian net collection stands at ₹59.35 crore.

Akshay Kumar and Prabhas Fall Behind

With its first-day earnings, Sikandar has secured the 37th position among the highest-opening Bollywood films. It has surpassed movies like Akshay Kumar's Gold, Prabhas' Saaho, Hrithik Roshan's Fighter, and the MS Dhoni biopic.

Can Sikandar Break Records?

The highest-grossing Salman Khan film in India remains Tiger Zinda Hai, with a net collection of ₹339.16 crore. It is followed by Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which earned ₹320 crore. If Sikandar aims to become Salman Khan's highest-grossing film, it will need to surpass both of these records. It remains to be seen how far the film goes after the first weekend.

Industry experts believe Sikandar has the potential to be a massive success, possibly securing Salman Khan's spot in the ₹500-crore club.
