Rashmika Mandanna Calls Calling Vijay's Ghilli Is Pokkiri Remake, Gets Trolled
Rashmika Mandanna, who has gained fame in the Telugu and Tamil film industries, has been trolled by fans after she wrongly mentioned in an interview that Vijay's Tamil film Ghilli was a remake of Mahesh Babu's Telugu flick Pokiri.
In the interview, Rashmika shared that the first movie she watched in a theatre was Ghilli. She expressed her admiration for Vijay Thalapathy, stating he was the first actor she saw on the big screen. Rashmika added, "Ghilli is a film, I think now recently I learnt that, it's a remake of a film called Pokiri. I didn't know."

Rashmika's Response to the Mistake
For those unfamiliar, Ghilli, released in 2004, is actually a remake of Mahesh Babu's 2003 film Okkadu. Vijay also starred in another remake Pokkiri, which came out in Tamil in 2007. When an X (formerly Twitter) user pointed out her mistake, Rashmika responded with humour and humility.
She said, "Avunu..telusu sorry..okka booboo aipoindi.. interview ayipointarvata annukunna reyyyy ghilli is okkadu ra .. pokkiri is pokiri ani..social media lo ippudu estuntaaru ani.. sorry sorry my bad.. but I love all of their movies so it's ok."
Rashmika's Career Highlights
Despite the mix-up during her interview, Rashmika remains beloved by fans for her candidness and charm. Her ability to laugh off mistakes endears her even more to audiences across different languages and regions.
Rashmika is currently basking in the success of her recent movie Pushpa 2. She has paired up with Allu Arjun in the movie, directed by Sukumar.
Pushpa 2 has emerged biggest blockbuster of all-time in the Telugu film industry, achieving remarkable milestones in 15 days of its release. The Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer has garnered tremendous attention nationwide, with its collections reflecting a strong pan-Indian appeal.
Regionally, the film has performed exceptionally well in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where it amassed Rs 280.8 crore, solidifying its dominance in its home markets. Karnataka contributed Rs 88.05 crore, while Tamil Nadu added Rs 70.15 crore to the overall total.
