"Nayanthara Said 'You Are My Friend, I Won't Take Money'": Dhanush In Viral Video
As Dhanush maintains silence on Nayanthara's allegations of demanding ₹10 crore for a three-second video, an old video clip featuring the actor has resurfaced and gone viral online.
The Viral Video
The clip, taken from a 2013 interview on Koffee With DD on Vijay TV, shows Dhanush and Sivakarthikeyan praising Nayanthara for her contribution to the film Ethir Neechal. Produced by Dhanush, the movie featured a special number performed by Nayanthara.

During the interview, Sivakarthikeyan noted that Nayanthara agreed to do the song without hesitation. Dhanush added, "She didn't even ask for money. She said, 'You're my friend, and I won't take money.' She did the song for free." The video has since garnered widespread attention amidst the ongoing controversy.
Nayanthara's Allegations
The viral clip comes just days after Nayanthara accused Dhanush of demanding ₹10 crore and refusing to provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for using visuals, songs, and photographs from the film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in a Netflix documentary about her life.
In an open letter, Nayanthara expressed her disappointment, calling Dhanush's actions "an all-time low." She revealed that he had sent a legal notice after the documentary trailer was released, questioning the use of certain clips and demanding compensation.
She wrote, "To demand ₹10 crores for mere seconds of footage is appalling and reflects poorly on your character. I wish you practiced the values you preach at audio launches. Clearly, you don't-not in my case or for my partner."
Nayanthara also criticized the power dynamics in the industry, questioning whether producers act as "emperors" over the cast and crew.
Public Reactions
Fans and netizens have been quick to respond to the resurfaced video and Nayanthara's allegations.
- One fan commented, "You lost a good friendship for money, Mr. Dhanush. Nayanthara🔥🔥🔥."
- Another wrote, "If Dhanush is demanding ₹10 crores for three seconds, then Nayanthara could have demanded more for the entire song. Double standards."
- A third user said, "Morally, this feels very wrong. Why is Dhanush doing this?"
Others offered different perspectives, with one remarking, "If two people are not on good terms, asking to use their property for free isn't fair either."
Nayan-Dhanush Rift
In her letter, Nayanthara also recalled past grievances, alleging that Dhanush harbored resentment toward Naanum Rowdy Dhaan's success. She claimed his attitude had caused "unhealable scars" and suggested that unresolved issues from nearly a decade ago had escalated into the current conflict.
With both parties yet to address these allegations publicly, the controversy continues to fuel debates across social media.
