'Lubber Pandhu' New OTT Release Date: Here's When It Will Be Out Online

Tamil cricket drama Lubber Pandhu finally has an OTT release date. Originally expected to drop last weekend, the film's digital debut was postponed as it continued its successful theatrical run. Now, the movie is set to stream on Disney+ Hotstar from October 31.

Lubber Pandhu hit theaters on September 20 and quickly became an unexpected box office success. Although the movie arrived at a time when Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan and Karthi's Meiyazhagan were ruling the box office, the film captured the hearts of audiences with its captivating portrayal of street cricket and exploration of social issues.

Directed and written by newcomer Tamizharasan Pachamuthu, Lubber Pandhu tells the story of Anbu, a talented cricketer whose ambitions are thwarted by caste-based discrimination.

The film not only celebrates the vibrant energy of street cricket but also tackles deeply ingrained societal problems, resonating with viewers on multiple levels. The title, Lubber Pandhu, which translates to "rubber ball" in local Chennai slang, pays homage to the film's street cricket theme.

The movie stars Harish Kalyan, Attakathi Dinesh, Swasika, Kaali Venkat, Devadarshini, and others are in the cast. The film has Sean Roldan's music, Dinesh Purushothaman's cinematography and Madan Ganesh's editing.

With over Rs 40 crore in box office collections, Lubber Pandhu has cemented itself as one of the standout sports dramas of 2024. As fans eagerly await the film's digital release, its success continues to grow, marking it as a must-watch.
