'GOAT' First Review: CBFC Insider Leak Or Fake Report On Vijay-Starrer?

In an age where social media buzz can make or break a film, early reviews have become increasingly common-even before the movie is officially released. One such report is out for Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming film 'The Greatest of All Time' (GOAT).

Citing sources within the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), some individuals are posting what they claim to be "insider reviews" of the film on the internet.

One YouTube channel has gone a step further by allegedly speaking directly with a CBFC member to provide a review. However, this practice has drawn sharp criticism from both industry professionals and fans, who argue that such reviews are misleading and undermine the movie's reception.

Film producer and critic G Dhananjayan took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his disapproval. He urged the YouTube channel to remove the review, stating, "Hi Sathyan, this is totally wrong & unacceptable. You please watch the film and post your review on 5th. But based on someone's statement, posting such reviews is not correct. You're prejudicing the audience."

Social media influencer Prashanth Rangaswamy also mocked the premature review, tweeting, "A review without even watching the movie? And even before the release? And this guy thinks that he can flop the movie by this. This can happen only if the butt is so hurt! Nee engayo poitayaa Sathyaa!"

The hype surrounding 'GOAT' is immense, and it is set to hit theaters on September 5. Directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by AGS Entertainment, the science fiction action film stars Vijay in dual roles, alongside a star-studded cast including Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Ajmal Ameer, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Vaibhav, Yogi Babu, Premgi Amaren, and Yugendran.

The film marks the twenty-fifth production of AGS Entertainment and is speculated to be one of Vijay's final movies before his anticipated entry into politics. The plot follows Gandhi, a former leader of a special anti-terrorist squad, who reunites with his team to confront unresolved issues from their past.

With its upcoming release, the film is expected to draw massive crowds, and the premature reviews have only added to the buzz, for better or worse.
