"Mumbai Police registered a case against Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Alt Balaji company under the POCSO Act. They have been asked to appear for questioning again on October 24," ANI quoted Mumbai Police in a tweet.

The controversial scenes are from the sixth season of 'Gandii Baat' streamed on OTT platform Alt Balaji.

The case is registered at MHB police station under Section 295-A of the IPC, the IT Act, and sections 13 and 15 of the POCSO Act.

The complaint alleges that an episode from a series streamed on Alt Balaji between February and April 2021 contained obscene scenes involving minor girls. However, the controversial episode is no longer available on the platform.

The series, which has released six seasons so far, is described by IMDb as featuring "scintillating stories of murder mysteries under the genre of erotic thriller," with characters showing "psychopathic tendencies" and exploring intense emotions that lead to crimes.

Meanwhile, Ekta Kapoor's drama film Love, Sex Aur Dhokha 2 (LSD 2), directed by Dibakar Banerjee, was released in theaters on April 19. The film's poster takes a bold stance, depicting the impact of a digitally obsessed society, as it portrays a couple caught between intimate connection and technological disconnection.
