Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat Box Office Collection Day 1: Diwali 2025 was widely expected to be dominated by Thamma, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna. While Thamma opened strongly, audiences were in for a surprise as Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa's romantic drama Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat made a solid mark at the box office, collecting ₹8.50 crore net on its first day, according to Sacnilk.

Despite limited screens and tough competition nationwide, the film proved that compelling storytelling and audience curiosity can deliver impressive numbers, even without a traditional mega-star cast.

Strong Performance Across Theatres and Tier-2 Cities

Industry insiders had predicted a potential double-digit opening (₹10+ crore) due to high pre-release buzz, particularly in tier-2 cities. While the film closed the day at ₹8.50 crore, this remains an impressive opening for a romantic drama in 2025, second only to Saiyaara, which had recorded a ₹20.50 crore debut.

This makes Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat one of the biggest openings for the romance genre in 2025.

Interestingly, Harshvardhan Rane's romantic drama outperformed Maddock Films' romantic horror-comedy on Day 2, which managed only 10.21% occupancy during the same morning shows.

According to Sacnilk, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat recorded a morning show occupancy of 11.80% on day 2. Despite it being a regular working Wednesday, the film has managed to hold steady compared to its 19.76% occupancy on opening day.
