The Indian television and film fraternity bid a tearful farewell to veteran actor Satish Shah on October 25 in Mumbai. Among the attendees were his co-stars from the beloved sitcom Sarabhai vs Sarabhai.

During the funeral, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai actors Rupali Ganguly, Sumeet Raghavan, Rajesh Kumar, and Deven Bhojani, along with producer JD Majethia and writer Aatish Kapadia, joined together to sing the show's title song in honor of Satish Shah.

Deven Bhojani, who directed the hit sitcom, shared a video capturing the emotional moment. He expressed how the team felt a spiritual connection to Shah even in his absence, as if his character Indravadan Sarabhai himself was present.

Deven Bhojani wrote, "May look mad, dark, weird whatever... but we always sing this when we're together & today was not an exception. Felt as if INDU himself insisted and joined us. #SatishShah ji I am blessed to have directed you in #sarabhaivssarabhai You'll live forever in our hearts."

Remembering Satish Shah's Legacy

Satish Shah passed away on October 25 due to kidney failure. Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit revealed that Shah's health deteriorated suddenly in the afternoon, leading to hospitalization at Hinduja Hospital, where he ultimately passed away.

Over a career spanning more than four decades, Satish Shah became a celebrated name in both Indian cinema and television. He gained cult status for his role in the 1983 classic Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro and numerous memorable films.

He also appeared in Shakti, Hum Saath Saath Hain, Main Hoon Na, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Fanaa, Om Shanti Om, and others. On television, his portrayal of Indravadan Sarabhai in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai remains one of the most iconic comedic performances in Indian TV history.
