Coldplay's Record-Breaking Performance
Coldplay declared the Saturday concert their "biggest ever." Taking to their official X handle, the band wrote, "Totally mind-blowing. Thank you Ahmedabad. See you again tomorrow - and if you're in India, please join us on Disney+ Hotstar from 7:45 PM."
Adding a personal touch, lead vocalist Chris Martin surprised fans by addressing them in Gujarati. "Tame logo aaje bada sundar laago cho. Hu tamare shahar ma aavyo chu. Kem cho, Ahmedabad? (You all look beautiful today. I've come to your city. How are you, Ahmedabad?)," he said, leaving the crowd cheering wildly.
Encouraging Fans to Enjoy the Moment
During the concert, Martin urged fans to put away their phones and live in the moment. "Your phone in your pocket, your hands in the sky," he said, encouraging the audience to fully immerse themselves in the music.
Tight Security Measures and Livestream Details
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, over 3,800 police personnel, including a specialized contingent from the National Security Guard (NSG), were deployed at the venue. Additionally, more than 400 CCTV cameras provided round-the-clock surveillance of the area.
For those unable to attend in person, the band has arranged for the January 26 concert to be live-streamed on Disney+ Hotstar, starting at 7:45 PM, making it accessible to fans across India.
