Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna Seek Blessings at Shirdi Ahead of Thama Release

With just days left for the release of their much-awaited horror-comedy Thama, actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna turned to divine blessings. On Tuesday, the duo, along with the film's team, paid a visit to the Shri Sai Baba Temple in Shirdi to seek blessings for their upcoming release.

The visit came amidst growing buzz around Thama, which hits theatres on October 21.

Rashmika looked radiant in a simple pastel pink salwar suit, exuding her trademark charm. Ayushmann, on the other hand, chose a crisp white kurta-pajama, keeping his look minimal yet classic. They were accompanied by Dinesh Vijan, head of Maddock Films and producer of Thama, who was seen wearing a blue kurta during the visit.

Interestingly, this isn't the first time Rashmika has sought blessings from Sai Baba ahead of a big release - she had earlier visited Shirdi before the premiere of Chhaava, where she starred alongside Vicky Kaushal.

Thama: A New Chapter in Maddock's Horror-Comedy Universe

Thama marks the fifth instalment in the ever-growing Maddock Films horror-comedy universe, following Stree (2018), Bhediya (2022), Munjya (2024), and Stree 2 (2024).

The recently released trailer has already set social media abuzz, with fans praising its quirky mix of humour, horror, and romance. Adding to the excitement, the "Poison Baby" song featuring Malaika Arora and Rashmika Mandanna has gone viral, setting the internet on fire with its catchy beats and glamorous visuals.

The Story of Thama

Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Thama tells the story of an ordinary man, played by Ayushmann Khurrana, who one day finds himself transformed into a vampire. Amid the chaos of his new identity, he falls in love with Rashmika Mandanna's character, who also happens to be a vampire.

Their supernatural love story faces a dark twist with the arrival of the villain, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, promising a rollercoaster of emotions, humour, and eerie thrills.

Produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, Thama blends Maddock's signature brand of wit, chills, and heartfelt storytelling.

Box Office Face-Off

Thama is set to release on October 21, and the competition at the box office looks fierce. The film will clash with Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa's Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, while Rishab Shetty's Kantara Chapter 1 continues its strong run in theatres. Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor's Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is also drawing in audiences.
