After Vijay's 'Ghilli', Ajith's 'Billa' Set For Re-Release

Last week, Thalapathy Vijay's 20-year-old blockbuster movie 'Ghilli' was released in theatres across Tamil Nadu and some South Indian states. Surprisingly, it has met with good response.

Now, it has been revealed that Ajith Kumar's hit movie 'Billa' is ready for re-release. Yes, the movie will be screened on May 1 on the occasion of the actor's birthday.

The 2007 hit movie is expected to be out in over 150 screens. Originally, there was a plan to release Ajith's 2011 hit movie 'Mankatha'. It is now said that this flick will be rereleased outside Tamil Nadu.

Vishnuvardhan-directorial movie was an action thriller which was a remake of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth's hit movie of the same name. Rajini's film itself was a remake of the Hindi movie 'Don'.

Ajith's film had Nayanthara playing the female lead along with Namitha. Prabhu, Rahman, John Vijay, and others are in the cast. 'Billa' had Yuvan Shankar Raja's music, Nirav Shah's cinematography and A Sreekar Prasad's editing.

On the other hand, Vijay's 'Ghilli' has grossed over Rs 20 crore at the worldwide box office.

Meanwhile, Ajith Kumar is busy with the shooting of his upcoming movie 'Vidaamuyarchi', a fast-paced action thriller directed by Magizh Thirumeni and funded by Lyca Productions. Filming began in Azerbaijan in October and is now nearing completion, according to an official statement.

Going by the the movie is likely to release in late May. Recent updates affirm the successful wrap-up of the Azerbaijan shoot for 'Vidaamuyarchi'.

'Vidaa Muyarchi' also has Arjun Sarja, Regina Cassandra and Arav in the cast.

Ajith Kumar's car had met with an accident during the shooting of his upcoming movie 'Vidaa Muyarchi' in November 2023 in Azerbaijan. However, the news came to light only today after the makers of the movie shared the shocking video of the accident.
