Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Will Rains Play Spoilsport To Diwali Celebration? RMC Issues Yellow Alert

Heavy rains are predicted to lash in 12 districts in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday, 15 on Thursday and 17 on Friday, as per Regional Meteorological Centre.

The RMC has issued a yellow alert for Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Pudukkottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Sivaganga and Ramanathapuram districts of Tamilnadu and Karaikal area for Wednesday.

On Thursday, heavy rains will lash at Dindigul, Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Karur, Namakkal, Salem, Erode, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Tirupattur, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Kallakurichi, Ariyalur and Perambalur of Tamilnadu.

Whereas on Friday, Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Karur, Tiruchirappalli, Theni, Dindigul, Tenkasi, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Pudukkottai and Sivaganga districts will witness heavy rains.

On Saturday, heavy rain to lash at Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Theni, Dindigul, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Madurai and Virudhunagar districts.

It means the rains are likely to play spoilsport during Deepawali as the long-holiday weekend in the state begins from tomorrow.

Chennai is forecasted to have a partly cloudy sky with potential moderate to heavy thunderstorms. Temperatures are expected to reach 33-34°C during the day and around 26°C at night. The highest maximum temperature was recorded at Madurai Airport and Tondi (35.8°C), while the lowest minimum temperature was observed in Erode (19.0°C).
