Tamil Nadu Weather: These 10 Districts To Get Heavy Rains For Next 2 Days

Tamil Nadu and Chennai Weather alerts: Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Erode, Tiruppur, Theni, Dindigul, Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri, and Krishnagiri will get heavy rains today and tomorrow.

The Regional Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for ten districts in Tamil Nadu, predicting heavy rainfall on Tuesday.

The districts expected to be affected are Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Erode, Tiruppur, Theni, Dindigul, Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri, and Krishnagiri. Except for These same districts are forecasted to experience heavy showers again on Wednesday.

In Chennai, the sky is expected to be partly cloudy with light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in some areas. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 34-35°C, while the minimum is expected to be between 26-27°C.

A low-pressure system over the east-central Bay of Bengal has intensified into a well-marked low-pressure area as of October 21. By the morning of October 22, it further strengthened into a depression, located approximately 700 km southeast of Paradip (Odisha), 750 km south-southeast of Sagar Island (West Bengal), and 730 km south-southeast of Khepupara (Bangladesh).

The system is expected to move west-northwest and intensify into a cyclonic storm by October 23. It is likely to strengthen into a severe cyclonic storm by October 24, affecting the northwest Bay of Bengal. The storm is predicted to make landfall between Puri (Odisha) and Sagar Island (West Bengal) between the night of October 24 and the morning of October 25, with wind speeds reaching 100-110 kmph and gusts of up to 120 kmph.

In Tamil Nadu, Palayamkottai and Tondi recorded the highest temperature of 34.1°C, while Erode reported the lowest minimum temperature at 17.4°C.
