The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that Cyclone Fengal, which crossed the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts on November 30, has since weakened. It transitioned into a well-marked low-pressure area over north interior Tamil Nadu as of December 2 and is expected to move into the Arabian Sea near the Kerala-Karnataka coasts by December 3.

The heavy rains have claimed at least three lives in Tamil Nadu, with Krishnagiri district being one of the worst affected. In Uthangiri, torrential rains submerged the bus station and swept away several vehicles. Shocking visuals captured buses and cars being carried off by floodwaters, highlighting the scale of destruction.

While the weakening of Cyclone Fengal brings some respite, authorities remain vigilant. Recovery operations are underway, and residents in flood-prone areas are urged to exercise caution as water levels recede.
