Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian Criticises YouTuber Irfan For Breaching Medical Protocols
Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian criticises YouTuber Irfan for breaching medical protocols by cutting his newborn’s umbilical cord. Legal action is pursued against both Irfan and the involved doctor, stressing the importance of upholding medical laws.
Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian on Tuesday criticised YouTuber Irfan for breaching medical protocols. Irfan posted a video showing him cutting his newborn's umbilical cord in an operating theatre. The minister stated that legal action will be pursued against Irfan. He emphasised that non-medical individuals performing such tasks violate national medical laws.
Subramanian explained, "Irfan entered the operating room and cut the umbilical cord, which is a clear breach of medical protocols." A legal notice has been sent to Irfan, and a complaint was filed at Semmancheri Police Station. Additionally, complaints have been lodged against the doctor from the private hospital who permitted this incident.

Legal Actions and Hospital Involvement
The director of medical services has been informed about the situation. Subramanian mentioned that there is a request to suspend the doctor's medical license involved in this case. "We are taking serious action against both Irfan and the hospital," he stated.
When questioned about Irfan's political connections possibly affecting the case, Subramanian assured, "This government will not shield anyone who breaks the law." The minister stressed that no one would be protected if they violated regulations.
Previous Controversy and Apology
Irfan was previously involved in another controversy when he shared details of a prenatal scan conducted on his wife in Dubai. Such scans are banned in Tamil Nadu to prevent illegal sex determination. However, since it occurred in Dubai, Irfan apologised, and his apology was accepted by authorities.
The minister clarified that if the scan had taken place in Tamil Nadu, strict actions would have followed. Despite any potential apology from Irfan regarding the recent video, Subramanian emphasised that the Health Department will not overlook this matter.
Upholding Medical Laws
"The law must be upheld, and appropriate legal measures will be enforced," Subramanian concluded. The minister reiterated that maintaining medical regulations is crucial and necessary steps will be taken to address any violations.
