Tamil Nadu: Half-Yearly Exams Postponed In Rain-Affected Regions
School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi has announced that due to the impact of rain in certain districts, the half-yearly exams will be rescheduled to the first week of January 2025. This information was shared by Thanthi TV.
The exams initially set for December 9 will proceed as planned, except for schools affected by Cyclone Fengal. The minister assured that these schools would have their exams conducted at a later date.

The Education Minister mentioned that consultations with headmasters of flood-affected schools are ongoing. He instructed education officials to make necessary arrangements to accommodate these changes.
Due to rain disruptions, both practical and theory exams originally scheduled for December will now be held in January. This adjustment aims to ensure fairness and adequate preparation time for all students involved.
According to an earlier official notification, the half-yearly exams will start on December 9 with the Tamil language exam. For higher secondary students, the English exam is slated for December 10, followed by major subjects until December 21.
For class 10 students, exams are scheduled from December 10 to December 23. The Tamil language exam is on December 10, with an optional language exam on December 11. Mathematics is set for December 16, Science for December 19, and Social Science for December 23.
