The fans of Chennai Superkings can travel on Namma Metro to reach Chepauk to watch the first match against the Mumbai Indians on Sunday for free.

CMRL's Big Annoucement

The Chennai Metro Rail Limited has announced that fans with valid tickets can reach the stadium and go home through sponsored tickets.

"To enhance commuter experiences and facilitate seamless travel to major city events, CMRL is delighted to announce its collaboration with "CSK Cricket Limited" who have come forward to sponsor metro rail travel for the "IPL 2025" to be held on 23rd Mar 2025, at "Chepauk Cricket Stadium" which is very near to Government Estate Metro Station," the CMRL said in a statement.

The CMRL said that the valid match ticket will enable a round-trip journey between their chosen Metro Stations and Government Estate Metro Station.

How To Avail This Offer?

"Cricket goers can scan the match ticket (both digital & Physical) QR code at the Automatic Gates. These valid match tickets can be used for one round trip (2 Entry & 2 Exit) and can be scanned at the automatic gates at the metro stations for smooth entry and exit," the statement read.

The last train from Government Estate Metro will depart at 1 am on Monday towards Wimco Nagar Depot Metro Station as well as towards Airport Metro Station.

The statement concluded, "Passenger entry into Government Estate Metro Station shall be restricted to 10 minutes before of respective trains. Passengers travelling towards Green Line stations may interchange at Chennai Central only. This initiative reflects CMRL's commitment to innovation and efficient services for Chennai residents. CMRL encourages other event organizers to join us in promoting public transport and reducing traffic congestion in Chennai!"

CSK vs MI Head-to-Head Record

The CSK and MI have faced each other in 37 matches in the IPL. However, the Chennai team has emerged victorious on 17 occasions while the Mumbai team has won 20 matches.

The match starts at 7.30 pm at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
