Chennai Police's Warning To Theatres Ahead Of Vijay's 'Leo' Release

The Chennai Police has reportedly issued a warning to theatre owners of taking strict action against theatres if they violate the Government Order relating to the screening of Vijay's upcoming Tamil movie 'Leo'.

As per the recent order, the Tamil Nadu government has granted permission to have five shows between October 19 and 24. Normally, single screens can have four shows in a day.

Usually for A-list actors, single screens will have 4 am shows. "All theatres can screen only one special show, the opening show will start at 9 am and the last show will end at 1.30 am," Indian Express quoted P Amudha, principal secretary to the government, as stating in the order.

The order also states that proper security arrangements should be in place so that the audience can enter and leave without difficulty, by providing sufficient time to clean and maintain the theatre in a hygienic manner.

A report in the Tamil media claims that special squads have been formed to monitor the theatres screening the movie.

It has to be noted that the fans were blamed by Rohini Theatre in Chennai of damaging seats during the screening of 'Leo' trailer.

The state government has also asked the theatre owners to ensure that the tickets are not sold at an exorbitant price.

However, the government imposing such restrictions has not gone well with the fans of Vijay. "What nonsense is this! Tamil Nadu is the only state where the government is always meddling with the entertainment industry, and more so, with Vijay films," one user said.

"When Jailer released None of the Gov interfered with, what nonsense," the third user added.

'Leo' is the second union of Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film has Trisha Krishnan in the female lead role.
