Chennai Latest Weather Report: Will It Rain IN TN Capital As Cyclone Landfall Begins In AP?
Rains have stopped in Chennai as the severe cyclonic storm Michaung's landfall is currently underway near Bapatla on the south Andhra Pradesh coast.
"Severe cyclonic storm Michaung is currently making landfall close to Bapatla. It is expected to complete its landfall in the next two hours. It is expected to complete crossing by 2 pm," an Amaravati Meteorological Centre official told PTI.

Cyclone Michaung wreaked havoc across Chennai and its neighbouring districts, inundating the city, causing disruptions in flights and trains, and startling residents with a video capturing a crocodile crossing a submerged road.

On the other hand, the airfield area of Chennai airport is open since 9 am on Tuesday and airlines and other stakeholders have been intimated for planning their operations, according to officials.
Rains have stopped, and water has receded in the Chennai airport area and there is no water stagnation in the runways or taxiways, officials said adding that a lot of slush and filth was being cleared out.
