Aavin Ice Cream Set To Become Costlier: Know How Much Here
Aavin Ice Cream is set to become more expensive, with prices increasing by Rs 3 to Rs 70 for various ice cream variants, effective from November 1, according to a report by DT Next.
Next. The Tamil Nadu state-run brand is making these changes to address concerns from agents who have shown less interest in selling the products due to low profit margins.

Officials revealed that over 100 varieties of ice cream will see price hikes, and new products are expected to be introduced soon. "Kulfi Ice, currently priced at Rs 30, will be reduced to Rs 15 at Aavin's retail outlets, while the large Kulfi will be priced at Rs 40," an anonymous senior official stated.
Additionally, Aavin is offering discounts on bulk purchases, such as a Rs 100 reduction on 4,500 ml packs typically used for events like weddings and private functions. Some ice cream flavors, including Sugar-Free Vanilla and Long Kulfi, have been temporarily discontinued but will return with new prices and flavors.
In celebration of Deepavali, Aavin will maintain current prices throughout October. "The new pricing for all ice cream categories will take effect starting November 1," another official confirmed.
For the festive season, Aavin will also launch eight new sweets, including Ghee Badusha, Nuts Halwa, Stuffed Moti Pak, Kaju Pista Roll, Kaju Katli, Assorted Packs, Aavin Mixture, and Butter Murukku. Special discounts will be available for customers purchasing Aavin milk products worth Rs 1 lakh or more.
The price hike has met with opposition, with some Aavin milk agents filing a petition with the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court. SA Ponnusamy, from the Tamil Nadu Milk Dealers' Welfare Association, argued that the timing of the price increase could hurt dealers, especially during the rainy season, as unsold stock may lead to losses. He also questioned the introduction of new Deepavali sweets, claiming it primarily benefits Aavin rather than consumers.
