Water Leakage In ₹1.5 Crore Bengaluru Apartment: Techie Shares Shocking Image
A Bengaluru techie has expressed his frustration over the city's soaring real estate prices, sharing a photo of water leaking into his room. This image underscores growing concerns about the affordability and quality of housing in one of India's major tech hubs.
Ripudaman a 22-year-old engineer, posted a picture of water seeping into his ₹1.5 crore apartment. "My room in 1.5CR apartment 5th/16th floor is leaking water These expensive buildings are such a scam bro! The civil engineer inside me can't comprehend this," he wrote on X while sharing an image showing dampness on the ceiling.

The post has sparked a heated debate on X, with many users sharing their experiences and concerns about Bengaluru's real estate sector. Numerous individuals echoed Ripudaman's frustration, criticising developers for prioritising profits over quality construction.
Real Estate Woes
One user advised Ripudaman to investigate the cause of the leak and consider legal action if necessary. "You have to find the root cause Like if it's due to plumbing or water accumulation and see page And then proper sealing is required," they suggested.
Another user commented, "You are not alone. It's even more common in 3crore plus high rise apartments with 30 plus floors … relax." This highlights that issues with construction quality are not isolated incidents but rather widespread problems in high-end properties.
A third person remarked, "The price paid for premium apartments is always for premium position, premium address, premium brand, premium society, premium utilities and never for premium construction." This sentiment reflects a broader dissatisfaction with the disparity between cost and quality in Bengaluru's real estate market.
Quality vs Cost
Ripudaman's photo starkly contrasts the high cost of living in Bengaluru with the subpar quality of construction in some of the city's premium buildings. His post has ignited discussions about whether developers are compromising on construction standards to maximise profits.
The incident has brought attention to the need for stricter regulations and oversight in the real estate sector to ensure that buyers get value for their money. Many believe that without such measures, issues like these will continue to plague homebuyers.
The ongoing debate highlights a critical issue facing Bengaluru's residents: balancing affordability with quality in housing. As more people voice their concerns online, it remains to be seen how developers and authorities will respond to these growing criticisms.
This situation serves as a reminder that despite paying hefty sums for homes, buyers must remain vigilant about construction quality and be prepared to take action when standards fall short.
