Watching porn in assembly and in public event not the same says K'taka CM
CM Siddaramaiah was responding to a question on whether he would take action against his minister like he had urged BJP to in 2012 when their MLAs were caught watching porn during assembly session
"BJP legislators watched porn clips inside the Karnataka assembly but this was a public function. It is not the same. I am not defending Tanveer Sait but trying to explain the difference", is what Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had to say over allegations of his cabinet collegue watching obscene pictures during Tipu Jayanthi celebration.

CM Siddaramaiah was responding to a question on whether he would take action against his minister like he had urged BJP to in 2012 when their MLAs were caught watching porn during an assembly session. The CM thought it important to explain how both incidents are different than to talk about what action he intended to take against Minister Tanveer Sait for scrolling through obscene pictures during a public event in Raichur on Thursday.

Even as he claimed that he wasn't defending the minister's act, Siddaramaiah said that Sait was only reading messages on whatsapp when these pictures popped up. "I spoke to him yesterday and he said he was scrolling through messages when this appeared. He will give an official explanation tomorrow. Let him submit it and lwe will verify the truth", said the Chief Minister.

Congress' minister watching obscene material during a Congress intended Tipu event has given ample reasons for the BJP to attack the State Government and its leadership. Syed Mastan Ali of the BJP said, "The Minister has insulted the whole of Karnataka by his act. He must be sacked". BJP leaders and workers alike are demanding for Tanveer Sait's resignation. He is currently Karnataka's Minister for Primary and Secondary Education.
Congress' very own leader Janardhan Poojari has urged the Chief Minister to drop Tanveer Sait from the cabinet immediately. The government, however, has given Sait till Saturday to respond on the issue. The incident has surely come as an embarassment to the Congress in Karnataka.
