Speeding Ambulance Jumps Red Light and Kills Couple Riding Scooter in Bengaluru

A tragic road mishap unfolded late Saturday night in Bengaluru when a speeding ambulance, instead of saving lives, ended up taking two.

The incident occurred near Richmond Circle around 11:00 pm, where multiple riders had stopped at a red signal before the ambulance lost control and rammed into them.

The vehicle ploughed through the stationary two-wheelers, causing chaos and panic at the busy junction.

Ambulance Rams Into Multiple Motorcycles

According to reports, the ambulance crashed into at least three motorcycles, dragging one of them for several metres before finally halting after hitting a nearby police outpost. The collision was so intense that it left the area littered with debris and twisted metal.

Two victims - identified as 40-year-old Ismail and his wife Sameen Banu - were riding a Dio scooter and died instantly due to the severe impact. Two more individuals suffered serious injuries and were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

Eyewitnesses Describe the Chaos

Eyewitnesses at the scene were quick to respond. They were seen attempting to lift the ambulance after it crashed into the police outpost. A video circulating online captured the scene, showing several damaged motorcycles, bystanders rushing to help, and the police outpost bearing the brunt of the impact.

"It was a horrifying sight. The ambulance hit the vehicles waiting at the signal and dragged them along before crashing into the outpost," said one onlooker.

Police Launch Investigation

The Wilson Garden Traffic Police promptly reached the accident site and began an on-ground investigation. Officers inspected the scene to assess the extent of the damage and collect evidence to determine how the ambulance lost control.

Authorities have confirmed that the driver's actions are under scrutiny, and further details will be revealed after the completion of the inquiry.
