Obscene Videos Case: Prajwal Revanna Flees To Germany, HD Revanna Seeks Legal Protection

In a major development in the alleged obscene video case involving Hassan MP and JDS leader Prajwal Revanna, another accused named in the FIR, JDS leader H.D. Revanna, is reportedly planning to approach the High Court on Monday. This development comes as the FIR related to the scandal is expected to be transferred to the newly formed Special Investigation Team (SIT).

The case was initially registered at Holenarasipur town station, and yesterday, the Karnataka government issued an official order for the formation of the SIT under the leadership of BK Singh. As a result, the FIR is likely to be transferred to the SIT today, with both HD Revanna and Prajwal Revanna named as accused in the FIR.

The complaint was lodged by a housekeeper, and MP Prajwal Revanna is said to have left the country for Germany. H.D. Revanna is expected to approach the High Court today, seeking a stay on the FIR and possibly applying for anticipatory bail to avoid arrest, given the serious nature of the sexual harassment allegations.

Efforts are being made by the police to prevent the alleged obscene video pen drive from circulating on social media. The Holenarasipur police have already seized some pen drives, which will be handed over to the SIT team for further investigation. However, seizing Prajwal Revanna's phone, which is believed to contain the master device for the video recording, has proven challenging as he is currently unreachable, and it is suspected that he has changed his mobile phone. The SIT has stated that they will track the IMEI number of the phone used to record the video.

The complaint of sexual assault was filed by a 47-year-old woman against both Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna and former minister HD Revanna at the Holenarasipur Town Police Station. The woman, a domestic worker, accused both father and son of sexual assault.

According to the complaint, the woman was employed at Revanna's home, where HD Revanna allegedly assaulted her in the storeroom and while delivering fruit. Prajwal Revanna is accused of hugging her from behind in the kitchen and making inappropriate advances. The woman also stated that Prajwal Revanna behaved rudely with her daughter over video calls, leading her daughter to block his number. This ultimately resulted in the woman leaving the house and filing a complaint, which led to the FIR against both Revannas.
