New Year Rules In Bangalore: Bengaluru is preparing to ring in the New Year throughout the city, and to ensure safe festivities, the Bengaluru City Police have established comprehensive security measures. In what he referred to as his "final press conference of 2024," City Police Commissioner B. Dayananda detailed these preparations.

In response to incidents from last year, over 11,000 police personnel have been deployed to avert any potential disruptions. "We have pinpointed key areas with high foot traffic, such as MG Road and Brigade Road Junction, and implemented the necessary arrangements," he stated.

Face Masks and Whistles Banned

Additionally, the police have issued a ban on the use of whistles during the New Year 2025 celebrations to avoid public disturbances.

Commissioner Dayananda also highlighted the police force's success in cracking down on drug peddling in the city. The anti-narcotics squad seized drugs worth over Rs 2.5 crore during their operation. The haul included 3.5 kg of hydro ganga, 16 kg of marijuana, 40 units of LSD strips, 130 g of charas, and 2.3 kg of MDMA crystals.

In another significant development, the police arrested 11 individuals for the possession and sale of cannabis and MDMA, continuing their efforts to tackle the illegal drug trade in the city.
