Namma Metro Purple Line Briefly Disrupted As Tree Falls On Tracks In Bengaluru’s SV Road-Indiranagar Stretch
Namma Metro services on the Purple Line was briefly disrupted on early Tuesday morning after a tree fell on the tracks. The incident occurred around 6:15 AM between SV Road and Indiranagar stations. As a result, Namma Metro services were temporarily halted on this section. Currently, trains are only running between Baiyappanahalli to Whitefield and MG Road to Challaghatta.

BMRCL shared this update on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), informing passengers about the temporary disruption. The Chief Public Relations Officer of BMRCL expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to commuters.
The X post read,"From 6:15 AM today, trains are running only between Indiranagar-Challaghatta and Baiyappanahalli-Whitefield on the Purple Line due to a tree obstructing operations between SV Road and Indiranagar. Inconvenience regretted."
According to latest update: The tree obstruction for train movement is cleared and train services on complete purple line restored from 8.05 am.
Due to the early morning disruption, many passengers faced difficulties. Those heading toward Indiranagar or Baiyappanahalli had to disembark at MG Road and resort to alternative modes of transport like autos and taxis.
Meanwhile, traffic on several roads across Bengaluru was also affected. The Bengaluru Traffic Police are providing real-time updates on X to keep commuters informed.
