Mahakumbh 2025: Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar Takes Dip In Triveni Sangam

Mahakumbh Mela 2025: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, along with his family, took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, in the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday.

The Maha Kumbh Mela is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world. Over 40 crore pilgrims have taken a holy dip in the Sangam since January 13. The event, held in Prayagraj, a city revered for its spiritual significance, offers pilgrims the chance to take a sacred bath at the Triveni Sangam, believed to cleanse sins and bestow divine blessings.

Sharing his experience on social media platform X, Shivakumar wrote, "Hara Hara Mahadev! I participated in the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, with my family and took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam. I am truly happy to have the opportunity to participate in the Maha Kumbh, which takes place once in 144 years."

In a similar display of devotion, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma also visited the Maha Kumbh Mela. After taking a holy bath at the Triveni Sangam, Sharma served prasad (sacred food) to devotees at the Rajasthan Mandap in Prayagraj. His participation underscored the event's unifying appeal, drawing people from all walks of life, including political leaders, to experience its spiritual grandeur.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath along with his Cabinet; producer Vinod Bhanushali and lead singer of British band Coldplay, Christ Martin, along with his girlfriend, author Sudha Murthy, and actress Dakota Johnson are some of the prominent personalities who have already taken the holy dip at the Sangam.

The event will continue until Mahashivratri on February 26.
