Over the next 48 hours, Bengaluru is likely to experience generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain or thundershowers in isolated areas. Gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph may accompany the showers. According to the IMD, daytime temperatures are expected to settle around 28°C, while nighttime temperatures could drop to around 20°C.

Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) posted a forecast for the next five days for the state.

In South Interior Karnataka, an orange alert has been issued for August 6, with warnings of very heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and squally winds. Districts such as Mysuru, Hassan, and Mandya are expected to witness intense weather activity.

In North Interior Karnataka, a yellow alert is in effect from August 5 to 8, with isolated heavy rainfall likely on August 6, 7, and 8. Areas including Bagalkot, Belagavi, Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura, and Yadgir may also experience rain accompanied by gusty winds.

For Coastal Karnataka, an orange alert has been issued for August 6 and 7, with the IMD forecasting very heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and squalls over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada districts.

Meanwhile, airlines issued weather-related travel advisories.

"It is pouring steadily across #Bengaluru, and several key routes are already being affected. This could mean longer, slower journeys to the airport," said IndiGo in a post on X.

"#WeatherUpdate: Due to bad weather (heavy rain) in Bengaluru (BLR), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may get affected. Passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status," posted SpiceJet.

Travelers heading to Kempegowda International Airport are urged to check their flight status and leave early to avoid delays.
