Heatwave Warning for Coastal Districts

Karnataka Weather Alert

Coastal Karnataka, especially the districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada, will be experiencing severe summer heat. A heatwave alert has been declared for these areas over the next five days, with a yellow alert activated for Uttara Kannada today due to increasing temperatures. Predictions indicate strong winds reaching speeds of 30-40 km/h across parts of North Interior Karnataka for the next three days, further contributing to the discomfort.

Current Temperature Levels Across Karnataka

In terms of recent weather changes, the past 24 hours have shown notable variations in temperatures. A rise of 2.5°C was recorded in Koppal and Chintamani, while Chamarajanagar saw a temperature drop of 2.2°C. Some locations, including Karwar, Honnavar, Panambur, Bagalkot, and Bengaluru's KIAL Airport, are recording above-normal temperatures.

Meanwhile, Bengaluru itself is expected to face a mix of partly cloudy skies along with a chance of morning fog in certain areas, with the maximum temperature anticipated to hit around 32°C and a minimum settling around 20°C.

Given these persistent heatwave conditions, residents are urged to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety. It is crucial to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, avoid direct sunlight during peak hours, and wear light, breathable clothing to stay as cool as possible. With the extreme temperatures likely to continue, taking these precautions is vital for safeguarding health and well-being during this challenging weather period.
