Jog Falls Closed: Gersoppa Falls To Remain Closed For Tourists From January 1 To March 15, Here's Why
The iconic Jog Falls in Karnataka will be closed to the public and tourists from January 1 to March 15, 2025, due to ongoing development work in the area. The decision was made to ensure the safety of visitors while crucial infrastructure improvements take place.
The Deputy Commissioner of Shivamogga has announced the closure of the Jog Falls entrance to tourists from January 1, 2025, to March 15, 2025, due to ongoing civil works at the site.

In a press release, the Deputy Commissioner, who also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Jog Management Authority, explained that the development work aimed at enhancing basic amenities for visitors was currently underway. This includes the construction of a new entrance plaza, which must be completed within the set timeline.
To prevent any disruption to tourists during the construction period, the management authority has decided to temporarily close the entrance. The Deputy Commissioner has urged the public to cooperate with the authorities during this time.
The development work, which includes upgrading amenities and enhancing the overall tourist experience, is expected to transform the area into a more sustainable and visitor-friendly destination. The authorities have urged all tourists planning to visit the falls during this period to adjust their travel plans accordingly.
Jog Falls, known for its mesmerizing beauty and one of India's tallest waterfalls, attracts thousands of visitors every year. With these upgrades, the hope is to provide a better, more comfortable experience for tourists in the future while preserving the natural charm of this landmark.
