Independence Day 2023: India Is On The Path To Shaping The World's Future, Says Shivamogga MP BY Raghavendra

On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of India's Independence, Shivamogga Lok Sabha member B.Y. Raghavendra shared profound insights into the historical significance of this day. In a poignant address, he highlighted the painful scars left by the partition of India in 1947 while underlining the nation's remarkable journey of progress and growth over the years.

Raghavendra's address began by evoking the memory of August 14, 1947, when the nation of India, known for its ancient glory, rich cultural heritage, and spiritual depth, was divided into two separate countries. He described this moment as a deeply distressing one in the annals of history, especially for a land that was once a beacon of knowledge, trade, and spiritual exploration.

India Is On The Path To Shaping The Worlds Future, Says Shivamogga MP B.Y. Raghavendra

The division was a result of the British colonial power's calculated move to serve its own political interests. The subsequent creation of India and Pakistan left a lasting wound in the collective consciousness of both nations. Raghavendra said that the pain of partition continues to affect the psyche of Indians and Pakistanis to this day.

Despite the trauma, Raghavendra highlighted India's resilient spirit, which propelled the country forward. While India embarked on a path of positive healing, Pakistan remained ensnared in violence and intolerance, leading to its decline on the global stage. Raghavendra noted that India's rise as a global leader was fueled by its knowledge base, technological prowess, entrepreneurial drive, and astute diplomacy. In contrast, Pakistan's embrace of proxy-wars and support for terrorism led to its own self-destruction.

Raghavendra lauded India's achievements on the world stage, with Indian leaders at the helm of influential tech giants and emerging as key political figures in critical nations like the United States and the United Kingdom. Economically, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has climbed the ranks, solidifying its position as a major player in global affairs.

Raghavendra emphasized that India's journey over its 75 years of political existence, particularly in the last 9 years, has firmly established its position as a leading contender in the race to shape the world's future by the mid-century mark.

While acknowledging the enduring pain of partition, Raghavendra celebrated the immense strides the nation has made, which overshadow the wounds of the past. He underscored the importance of humility, acknowledging that India's progress owes much to the selfless sacrifices of its forefathers.

On this day, dedicated to the remembrance of the horrors of partition, Raghavendra paid homage to the great martyrs who contributed to the nation's freedom struggle. He expressed hope that the nation's progress would make these heroes proud, even in their heavenly abodes.

The message concluded with the iconic phrase "Jai Hind," encapsulating the spirit of unity and patriotism that continues to inspire the citizens of India.
